Improve your employment opportunities and career prospects by possessing the appropriate CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Cards. This is an important qualification and nearly all UK sites expect construction workers, in all trades and roles, to have a CSCS card.

CSCS Cards are the Key to Gaining Access to UK Construction Sites

Gain access to more sites by making sure you have a CSCS Card, which is now an industry standard. It shows employers that you are safety aware as well as what level of experience and skills you have at a glance. Your CSCS Card contains a computer chip which can be checked on site by any construction site manager or supervisor.

Health and Safety is at the Centre of the CSCS Card Scheme

Show that you are Health and Safety aware by having a CSCS card, which makes you a more appealing employee or contractor to those requiring your construction skills. The CSCS cards illustrate clearly your level of training, qualifications and experience, which is easily identifiable by the colour of the CSCS card you possess.

Before being awarded any CSCS card, regardless of your qualification level, you must pass a Health and Safety Test. The test will vary depending upon your trade and skill level.

To discuss how CSCS cards will benefit you or to arrange a Health and Safety Test please go to https://www.cscs.uk.com/ for more information.

Improve your Career Prospects and Work Up the CSCS Cards Colour Scheme

Further improve your career prospects by progressing up the colours of the CSCS card scheme, which are issued under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

The different types of CSCS cards include:

  • Red Cards (Trainee cards and temporary cards)
  • Green Cards (Construction Site Operative cards)
  • Blue Cards (Craft and Skilled Worker cards)
  • Gold Cards (Advanced Craft and Supervisor cards)
  • Black Cards (Management cards)
  • White/yellow (PQP) Cards (Professionally
  • Qualified Person cards)
  • White/grey (CRO) Cards (Construction related occupation cards)
  • Temporary Red CSCS cards are available. If you do not have any recognised construction qualification, but if you are interested in achieving a Green, Blue, Gold or Black CSCS Card you will need to gain a recognised construction qualification – usually an NVQ/SVQ. If you are a plant operator you will need to obtain a CPCS card (part of the Construction Plant Competence Scheme) as well.
