Improve your employment opportunities and career prospects by possessing the appropriate CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Cards. This is an important qualification and nearly all UK sites expect construction workers, in all trades and roles, to have a CSCS card.

Health and Safety at the Heart of the CSCS Card Scheme

Demonstrate your health and safety awareness by obtaining a CSCS card, which makes you a more attractive employee or contractor for those in need of your construction skills. CSCS cards clearly indicate your level of training, qualifications, and experience, identifiable by the card’s colour.
Before receiving any CSCS card, regardless of your qualification level, you must pass a Health and Safety Test, tailored to your trade and skill level.

Enhance Your Career Prospects with the CSCS Card Colour Scheme
Further enhance your career prospects by progressing through the colours of the CSCS card scheme, which are issued under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.
The different types of CSCS cards include:
- Red Cards (Trainee and temporary cards)
- Green Cards (Labourer cards)
- Blue Cards (Craft and Skilled Worker cards)
- Gold Cards (Advanced Craft and Supervisor cards)
- Black Cards (Management cards)
- White/Yellow (PQP) Cards (Professionally Qualified Person cards)
Temporary Red CSCS cards are available if you do not have a recognised construction qualification. To obtain a Green, Blue, Gold, or Black CSCS card, you will need to achieve a recognised construction qualification, typically an NVQ or SVQ.
